Athenee Apartment

  • Embraced by the clouds, our Athenee Apartment project soars 20 floors above the leafy avenue in central Bangkok. Longing for a tranquil haven to call home, our design envisioned this 115-square-meter apartment as a hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Beyond its panoramic view overlooking the skyline, the two-bedroom corner unit is bathed in abundant natural light, establishing itself as a foundational canvas for transformation. Tasked with creating a warm and inviting family home, the design prioritized crafting a home that fostered a sense of connection and openness. As a result, the enclosed kitchen and storage areas were dismantled to make way for an open-plan kitchen complete with an island. The alteration allowed for increased natural light and airflow throughout the space, merging the kitchen with the living area.

With a focus on maintaining a sense of calm and spaciousness, an effort was made to ensure natural materials and furnishings were selected based on their harmonious light tones, despite their varying tactility. The primary base was lined with Oak floor in Herringbone and natural lay patterns, complemented with walls and joineries in soft shades of ivory. To enrich the visual dynamic, a blend of natural stones ranging from Travertine to Calacatta was introduced, marrying both pronounced veining and understated patterns and hues. As the apartments were filled with shifting daylight, automated blinds were installed floor-to-ceiling to facilitate the residents' privacy and comfort.

At the heart of the metropolis, one finds themselves indulging in a sanctuary above the busy city street, where a home has been reimagined to align with modern lifestyle while embracing tranquility.
